01Accessibility Features Built Into Rootli
- Semantic Structure: Native HTML5 landmark elements, clean heading hierarchies, and descriptive page titles to aid screen-reader navigation.
- Keyboard Navigation: The full interactive flow — including directory search, service filtering, specialist booking, and checkout — is operable via keyboard (
Tab,Enter,Space,Esc). - Visual Standards: Text styling, form fields, and buttons maintain high-contrast colour ratios meeting WCAG AA requirements, complete with clear focus rings for active controls.
- Reflow & Responsiveness: Layouts reflow seamlessly down to 320px viewport widths and support up to 200% browser text zoom without loss of content or functionality.
- Alternative Text: Specialist profile images, service thumbnails, and icons include meaningful
alttext, oraria-hiddenattributes for decorative elements.
02Known Limitations & Third-Party Components
While we aim for comprehensive accessibility across our codebase, some embedded third-party services are outside our direct control:
- Stripe Payment iFrames: Secure card entry fields are hosted by Stripe, which maintains its own accessibility compliance standards.
- Interactive Maps: Location mapping tiles rely on third-party mapping APIs. Where map interaction presents a barrier, an equivalent text-based postcode or city search is provided.
03Alternative Booking Routes & Assistance
If you experience a barrier that prevents you from searching for a specialist or completing a booking:
- Assisted Booking Support: Email support@rootli.co.uk with your request. Our support team will help you complete your booking manually via email or supported channels at no additional cost or platform fee.
- Feedback: We welcome feedback on web barriers. We acknowledge accessibility enquiries within two business days and treat accessibility bugs as priority defects.
04Ongoing Review & Maintenance
This statement is reviewed annually and updated whenever major interface changes are released to rootli.co.uk. Accessibility regressions are treated as defects, not enhancements.
